1.Will I need admission for an Otoplasty procedure?

No, this can be done as a day surgery. You can have the ear plastic surgery and go home.

2.What kind of anesthesia will be necessary?

The ear plastic surgery (otoplasty) procedure is usually done under a general anesthesia, however, it can be done under local anesthesia as well.

2.What is the postoperative course like?

You will have a dressing around your ears for five days. You may have difficulty in hearing due to the bulky bandage.

3.Is there a risk of relapse after Otoplasty?

There is a tiny risk of relapse, which can be corrected, if required by a further operation.

Yes there is always a minor possibility of over correction. That can sometimes be reduced by massage and splintage, however under correction is more likely than over.

There is a small risk of hematoma, delayed healing of the wound, wound infection and skin necrosis. We know how to treat these and can guide you through this.
